Advanced Chemical Technologies SIL-ACT®

Advanced Chemical Technologies formulates silanes specifically to meet Federal and State performance and VOC requirements. SIL-ACT® is the most approved concrete water repellent in the United States for bridge decks and parking structures. SIL-ATC® silane water repellents have been tested by and proven effective by D.O.T., universities, and independent testing laboratories.
Advanced Chemical Technologies SIL-ACT® is an alkyltrialkoxy silane treatment that permanently weatherproofs concrete and masonry without forming a surface coating. SIL-ACT® water-repellent products chemically bond to the substrate. This creates a unique, effective water-repellent barrier.
- Once SIL-ACT® penetrates the surface, a rapid chemical reaction occurs, where part of the silane molecule evaporates leaving the active portion to adhere to the concrete.
- When SIL-ACT® is applied to concrete or masonry, the chemical reaction creates a one-way filter repelling salt, water, chloride ions, and staining substances, while vapor passes freely out of the concrete.
- SIL-ACT® provides increased protection for reinforcing steel components as the concrete continues to dry over time.
